SYNESTHESIA PROMOTIONAL POSTER SERIES
INFORMATION: This series of posters were designed to promote the 13th National Synesthesia Conference held at the University of Wisconsin. Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon where the stimulation of a sensory synchronizes with another. There are at least 73 different types of synesthesia based on the research done on 1143 different synesthetes. About 3.7% of the general population has some form of synesthesia. These poster series were created purely out of typography.
INSPIRATION: Psychedelic drugs like LSD are often associated with experiences that can only be described as synesthesia, the rare neurological phenomenon in which a stimulus produces a second concurrent, involuntary experience. The drug enhances the users’ senses to feel synchronized with their surroundings and feel united as one existing plane.
PROCESS: This was a photo that I took while I was flying on an airplane which became the core essence of the textures that were developed for the poster series.
